Bergen Country Club Gets New Ownership

The new owners have facilities improvements planned in addition to expanded programs and amenities.

Bergen County’s Edgewood Country Club is under new ownership and major improvements are planned.

The deal which closed April 1 saw Witmondt and Schonbraun Families taking full ownership of the club from Hamptom Golf Management, which will remain in an advising capacity through the transition.

“Edgewood Country Club boasts a longstanding history and a loyal member base in Bergen County and beyond,” says Dan Rogers, general manager of Edgewood Country Club. “This new ownership ushers in a new era of financial stability and a long-term improvement plan that will feature exceptional facilities and fresh programming at Edgewood.”

“The focus is on family, especially mothers and children,” MG Orender, founder of Hampton Golf Management and a former PGA President, said in a press release. “Sunday family barbeques by the pool, family movie nights, and poolside events are just some of the new events we are excited to offer Edgewood members this year.”

The club, located in River Vale, has been operating for nearly 60 years.
