Community School Urges Ramsey to 'Be Yourself,' Opens Spring Registration

The adult school presents on-site and online courses and day trips to help Ramsey residents expand their horizons.

“Before you can be anything, you have to be yourself.”

Those are the words Ramsey Community School wants to inspire people thinking about expanding their horizons. And expanding horizons is what the adult school, now taking registrations for its spring 2014 semester, says it's all about.

RCS Director Jeanne Macko says the school offers a wide variety of classes and trips to choose from that are "inexpensive, convenient and always entertaining."

Among the offerings are fitness classes, including beginner to advanced-level
Pilates, yoga, Chi Gong, volleyball, kickboxing, hiking and Zumba.

Those interested in learning a new hobby can consider taking a course in subjects such as knitting, sewing woodworking, painting, drawing, photography, upholstery, floral arranging, mosaics and silver and gold jewelry making.

Aspiring cooks can learn about the art of cooking fish, vegetarian dishes with an
Asian twist, gluten free cooking, homemade cinnamon buns, delicious middle eastern cuisine, and many more culinary skills.

RCS presents online classes too, covering subjects including business management, career development, computer programming and certificate programs.

The Ramsey Community School also offers more than 20 day trip opportunities, including visits to the Philadelphia Flower Shower, ARTiculture, the New York
Botanical Garden’s Orchid Show, a trip to See Long Island’s Gold Coast estates and a Broadway show.
