Ramsey Business Is On The Cutting Edge Of Ultra HD Video
Kollins Communications works on the latest Ultra High Definition video and 3D modeling and animation.

RAMSEY, NJ — Kollins Communications is working to define what Ultra High Definition is.
The Ramsey business is a creative video production and digital consulting company. One of its services is creating the demo videos that play on televisions in stores like Best Buy. Samsung is one of Kollins' biggest clients.
"We're an innovative solutions marketing company. We're not coming up with campaigns," said Richard Collins, CEO of Kollins. "We'll take an advertising agency's campaign and make it better."

Collins said that being in Bergen County has great for business and that Ramsey officials have been supportive of the company.
"We've managed a number of economic turndowns," he said. "Being here gives us this ability to manage a range of clients that we couldn't manage in Manhattan. People complain about Route 17, about the traffic, but it's an artery that gets you up and down the state, to the George Washington Bridge and the New Jersey Turnpike and Parkway. Bergen County is a wonderful place to do business."

Kollins works with the latest in video production and editing equipment to create 4K and 3D videos. The company has an editing facility that supports 4K High Dynamic Range video, rivaled only by video that is shown in movie theaters.
"We shot and edited 4K video four years ago before people did not really know much about it," Collins said.
Kollins is working on doing more with 3D video, something that never took off with consumers as some thought, and combining it with 4K technology.
"[It] was awkward because for a lot of people a lot of 3D just flew stuff at people like it was coming out of a picture frame," Collins said. "Good 3D is seeing depth and perception and with the ability to bring two 4K signals together, we're giving you the ability to look through that picture frame, if you want to."
