Ramsey High School to Launch Jazz Symposium

Ramsey High School's acclaimed jazz ensemble, fresh off of several performances in Rome, launches its 2016 concert series on Friday, Feb. 5.

Ramsey High School’s acclaimed Jazz Ensemble launches its 2016 concert series with a performance featuring trumpet great Jim Hynes on Friday, Feb. 5 at 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Hynes has established himself as one of New York’s premier studio musicians, having performed and recorded with key players of the pop, rock, jazz and contemporary music worlds. He is a member of Paul Simon’s elite touring band and has garnered acclaim from critics and fans worldwide for his performances with Simon. Hynes’s collaborations include recordings with Aerosmith, Tony Bennett and Michael Jackson.

This is the 12th time that Hynes has collaborated with the Ramsey High School jazz ensemble. The concert is open to the public and is free to attend. Donations will be accepted.
