Morris County Adds Extra Day Of In-Person Coronavirus Testing
After an announcement that Morris County will phase out at-home testing, testing will occur 4 days a week at the County College of Morris.
RANDOLPH, NJ — After announcing it would phase out at-home coronavirus testing, Morris County officials will add an extra day of testing per week at the County College of Morris. Effective this Friday, the testing station inside the Student Center will operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
County officials expanded COVID-19 testing last month by introducing free at-home tests for all residents and people who work in Morris County. But soon only homebound, symptomatic residents will be able to get home tests. County officials found too many people "hoarded" at-home tests, with only about 7,500 tests returned of 16,300 distributed. Read more: Morris County Phasing Out At-Home COVID Tests Due To 'Hoarding'
But the county said it would focus more of its testing efforts on the in-person facility at the County College of Morris.
