Morris Habitat for Humanity recently received a donated pickup truck from Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson. The much-needed truck will be assigned to Morris Habitat’s construction department and will be used to move warehouse building materials, pick up donated and purchased materials, plow snow, and deliver tool trailers to job sites.

“We definitely have a need for this truck,” said Douglas Wright, Morris Habitat’s Chief Construction Officer. “Having safe, reliable transportation reduces the cost of delivery charges and keeps our projects running efficiently. Because of Janssen’s help, our programs will stay on schedule, within budget, and we will be able to serve as many families as possible.”

Morris Habitat for Humanity is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization committed to building homes, communities and hope. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Morris Habitat builds new homes and provides home repair services to income-eligible families in Morris and Middlesex Counties as well as Fanwood, Plainfield, Scotch Plains, Green Brook, North Plainfield and Watchung. Since 1985, Morris Habitat has served more than 650 households through home ownership opportunities, home preservation, and international home building programs. Proceeds from the ReStore have helped to fund construction while diverting almost 5,800 tons of useable material from local landfills.
