Morris Habitat's Hearts & Hammers Gala Set for Februrary 23
Sponsors Sought for the Organization's Largest Fundraising Event

Morris Habitat for Humanity’s Leadership Council announces the 14th annual Hearts & Hammers Gala on Saturday, February 23 at 6 p.m. at the Meadow Wood Manor in Randolph, New Jersey.
The 2019 gala’s theme, “Twelve Homes for Twelve Families,” is dedicated to raising funds for 121 Main Street, an environmentally-friendly condominium project in Succasunna that will place a dozen new families in affordable homes. It is Morris Habitat’s largest project in its 33-year history.
“The Hearts and Hammers Gala is critical to furthering our mission of making affordable housing a reality for hardworking families,” said Morris Habitat for Humanity CEO, Blair Schleicher Bravo.

“We’re grateful to the corporations and individuals who have already pledged their support, but more donations are needed for us to carry out our important work for 2019.”
The fun-filled gala features silent and live auctions, a multi-course dinner, music and dancing. The evening’s spotlight will be on the Hearts and Hammers Gala Honoree presentations and the story of a Morris Habitat homeowner’s journey to homeownership. With the gala approaching, corporate and individual sponsors are stepping up to lend support to Morris Habitat’s vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Major corporate sponsors to date include: Lakeland Bank, GAF, Schindler Elevator Corporation, Bayer and Valley Bank.
Gala Honorees for 2019 include: James Nigro, 2018 President of the Morris Habitat Board of Directors, with the Don Kuhn Inspiration Award, and Corporate Partner Awards to GAF James Schnepper, President; Lakeland Bank, Thomas J. Shara, CEO and President; and Schindler Elevator Corporation, Gregory Ergenbright, President.
ABOUT MORRIS HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Morris Habitat for Humanity is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization committed to building homes, communities and hope. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Morris Habitat builds new homes and provides home repair services to income eligible families. Morris Habitat collaborates with other Habitat affiliates and related housing organizations to improve the affordable housing stock in the region, and over the last four years has more than doubled the number of homes built.
