Why go to the Y?
The YMCA has been around for over 150 years, so clearly they are doing something right. What keeps this organization going?

It's Friday night. You're sitting on the couch in an over sized T-shirt and sweat pants. The TV is on in the background as you scroll through your social media feed on your smartphone.
You think to yourself, "Ugh. I'm so bored. There's nothing to do around here." Wrong.
If you think there's nothing to do around Randolph, NJ, think again. More often than not we find ourselves complaining that we're bored when there's plenty of ways to stay active right in our area. The YMCA offers a multitude of things to do, and I'm going to highlight of few of them for you.

2. Programs
In addition to the fitness classes, the Y offers several other programs for everyone in the family. During the summer months a day camp is offered so parents can go to work knowing their child is in a safe and fun learning environment. The YMCA also offers Screenings, Support Groups and Lectures that can educate you and bring the community together. The best part is, you don't even need to be a member to attend!
3. Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering at the Y is so easy to do! If you can only be there two times a year or go twice every week, there's always going to be an opportunity to lend a helping hand. Volunteers at the Y wear many hats, from coaching, teaching, fundraising and more. No opportunity is too small to make a difference in someone else's life.
4. Events
To continue supporting their community, the YMCA hosts events to help raise funds and support noble causes. Coming this October 5, Bobby Collins will be putting on a dinner and comedy show to benefit the Building What Matters campaign to celebrate Sally Schenkman, who was an avid swimmer at the Y and unfortunately passed on May 21, 2017.
So, what are you waiting for? The YMCA offers many opportunities to get involved, take advantage of them now!
