24 COVID Cases Push Glen Rock High School To Remote
In-person learning is tentatively set to resume Monday, with district officials set to finalize a return date by Sunday.
GLEN ROCK, NJ — Glen Rock High School will shift to remote learning for the remainder of the week after 14 COVID-19 cases were reported to the district after spring break, and another 10 were reported Tuesday.
The remote learning period is currently set to end Monday when the school returns to a previously announced three cohort schedule, Superintendent Brett Charleston announced.
Charleston said it isn't likely that the transmission happened within the school building, but the district is proceeding cautiously.

"Though our contact tracers determined that it is highly likely that each of the students were exposed to COVID-19 outside of school, the district will err on the side of caution with the transition to virtual instruction," he said
This shift will not impact other schools in the district, he added, but could have greater ramifications.

"The district will revisit the need to extend the quarantine over the weekend and communicate out to all stakeholders only if a decision is made to continue the quarantine for the High School," said Charleston.
That decision is expected by 3 p.m. Sunday.
Bergen County could be on the precipice of another spike in COVID-19 cases according to recent test results.
The county's ongoing wastewater testing program indicates that the current concentration levels of COVID-19 are similar to those from the late fall and early winter of 2020, which were followed by a spike in cases.
There were 7,210 new positive coronavirus cases in Bergen County in March, county officials said. Read more: Bergen Wastewater Tests Signal Increase In Community COVID Spread
