La Lanterna Restaurant

Restaurants were an important piece of 2020 for many. As owners struggled and were forced to quickly adapt, patrons relied on them for a sense of normalcy. At La Lanterna, one Patch reader kept it simple on why they were so special.

"Outstanding food and service," said customer Mark Maliski.

Daily Treat

"Is a longtime statue of Ridgewood - went and is going above and beyond serving all that Ridgewood and surrounding areas needed, especially during Pandemic with their service to Valley Hospital and all residents. They are a staple of our wonderful village," said customer Lorraine Seifert.

Gardiner & Co.

"Jane is creative, fun and dedicated to her customers. She has an amazing assortment of handbags, shoes and accessories. She also gives back to her community and is very generous," said customer Barbara Wasserman.

Glen Rock Sweet Shop

It was a dark year, and what's better to cure melancholy than dessert? More than that, the Sweet Shop made customers feel welcome.

"The owner makes you feel like family and has become part of the town," said customer Perry DeGregorio.

Glen Rock Inn

Another Glen Rock staple, the Glen Rock Inn has become synonymous with the town's dining scene. During the coronavirus pandemic, not much changed despite, well, almost everything changing.

"They go out of their way for their patrons, especially during this pandemic," said friend of the business Lorraine Seifert.
