Bergen County Natives Qualify For Olympics

Nine New Jersey natives have qualified for the Tokyo Olympics, which are set to begin this July.

NEW JERSEY — The 2020 Tokyo Olympics are set to begin this July, in 2021. That's right, it's still 2020 somewhere.

Jokes aside, despite the lingering coronavirus pandemic, the Olympics are scheduled to begin July 23 and run through Aug. 8. For those living in New Jersey, there will be some familiar faces to watch during the events.

This includes Fair Lawn's Tracy Eisser, rowing, and Teaneck's Khalil Thompson, fencing.

Thompson and Eisser aren't the only New Jersey natives to qualify. The Washington Post put together a list of qualifiers so far, which includes nine from the Garden State.
