Bergen Pub’s Burger Contest Predicts Super Bowl Winner

It was a close call, according to the restaurant.

RAMSEY, NJ – Local football fans have spoken.

In advance of Super Bowl LIV Sunday, Shannon Rose Irish Pub held its first-ever burger battle between two limited-time offerings created in honor of the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs.

Besides giving a trophy to the more popular seller burger, the restaurant hopes the contest will offer some insight on which team will win the big game.

On Wednesday, Shannon Rose, which has locations in Ramsey and Clifton, revealed the winner – the Kansas City BBQ Burger, which is made of fresh ground beef grilled and topped with pepper jack cheese, house-made Guinness BBQ pulled pork, Cole slaw and a breaded onion ring.

However, it was a close call, the restaurant said. Kansas City beat out the San Fran "Mission" Burger (Fresh ground beef seasoned with BBQ spice rub and topped with house-made guacamole, pico de gallo, shredded cheddar Jack cheese, tortilla chips and chipotle ranch dressing) in a 41-39 victory.
