Christopher Jay Connelly, 57, Formerly Of Ridgewood

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Christopher Jay Connelly, 57, of Oak Ridge, formerly of Ridgewood, died Friday.

He was a graduate of Ramapo College and had been a social worker in the Sparta Public School System. He later worked in the Lincoln Park School System.

Connelly enjoyed helping children and spent many years coaching basketball in Sparta, Park Ridge and Emerson and for Bergen Catholic High School.

He is survived by his wife, Ingrid (nee Perkins); children Christopher and Kaitlyn; stepchildren Charday and Colin; siblings, and their in-laws, Maureen and Skip Barker, Mike and Tien Connelly, and Tom and Joan Connelly; and nieces and nephews Bill, Michael, Colleen, Megan, and Matthew.

Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave., in Ridgewood. A funeral mass will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church in Ridgewood.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, Okla. 73123.
