Donor Drive Benefits Ridgewood Man Battling Cancer
Simple cheek swab can help determine a match for 22-year-old requiring white blood cell donation.

A bone marrow registry drive for a 22-year-old Ridgewood man battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma will be held this weekend to help identify potential donors of white blood cells essential to his recovery.
Anthony Daniels, a 2009 Ridgewood High School graduate, has been battling the blood cancer since December 2011, undergoing treatments at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City while continuing his studies at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business.
Finding a match of white blood cells has been difficult because of his rare DNA markers, so Community Blood Services, which is helping organize the drive, is seeking to broaden the pool of potential donors.
