Fair Lawn Joins Ridgewood in Creating 'Dangerous Dog' Ordinance
Borough may also form "responsible pet ownership society" modeled after Ridgewood's.

Following Ridgewood's lead, Fair Lawn has passed a dangerous dog ordinance.
On Tuesday, the Fair Lawn Borough Council approved a law increasing the minimum fee to own a court-classified "dangerous dog" from $150 to $700.
Residents also asked officials to form a "responsible pet ownership committee," similar to the one Ridgewood created just months prior.

Thus far, the Ridgewood Responsible Pet Ownership Committee has provided microchips for pets and hosted a seminar on dog behavior.
"It's been a really good experience for everyone that's been involved," Ramapo Kennel Club President Sharon Fremer said.
