The Glen Rock Police Department received three additional reports from residents concerning fraudulent unemployment claims last week.

During this past week, the Glen Rock Police Department received 3 additional reports from residents concerning fraudulent unemployment claims. In each case unknown actor(s) used their personal information to apply for unemployment. The detective bureau continues to receive ongoing complaints of this nature and is working with the NJ Division of Criminal Justice which is the lead investigating agency on fraudulent unemployment claims being filed throughout the state.

06-29-2021

9:17 PM – A Main Street resident contacted police after an unknown individual entered the common hallway of his apartment building. The resident believed that the individual may have also opened the unlocked door to his apartment. The resident was able to locate one of the individuals involved a short distance from his apartment and identified the subject to the responding officers. The subject, a 15-year-old Ridgewood male, was detained by officers until his mother was able to respond a short time later. The juvenile was released to the custody of his mother without incident. It could not be determined if the subject had actually entered the complainant’s apartment.

07-02-2021

4:16 AM – Patrols were dispatched to a report of a male adult laying in bushes near the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and William Place. The subject was found to be in a highly intoxicated state and was subsequently transported to Bergen New Bridge Medical Center for detox. A follow-up investigation is being conducted to confirm the man’s identity.
