Glen Rock Changes Plans For Halloween Parade, Trick Or Treating
The parade and subsequent trick or treating attracted a lot of people from other towns so officials have planned another, smaller, event.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — The borough changed its plans for the annual Halloween parade and trick or treating time this year, officials said Tuesday.
A local volunteer group called Women In Community Service (WICS) has run the annual parade, which has grown and attracted many out-of-town residents to participate.
However, last week Mayor Bruce Packer was informed that the parade and subsequent trick or treating to local businesses had "outgrown" the group and Rock Road. Officials cancelled the event.

The borough Recreation Department is planning a smaller parade and a truck or treat.
Packer said WICS has volunteered to help with the new event. Many borough groups and businesses will be invited to participate in the new event.

Packer said the change of plans will not impact residential trick or treating and whether or not local businesses choose to give candy out to kids. More details will be announced soon, he said.
"We are just offering up an alternative option, as we had done in the past with the parade on Rock Road," Packer said. "I believe it will be an amazing event that your children will absolutely love."
