Glen Rock Police Blotter: 4 More Unemployment Fraud Claims
The department continues to receive reports of fraudulent unemployment claims, and are working with the NJ Division of Criminal Justice.

Unemployment Fraud Claims
"During this past week, the Glen Rock Police Department received four additional reports from residents concerning fraudulent unemployment claims. In each case unknown actor(s) use their personal information to apply for unemployment. The detective bureau continues to receive ongoing complaints of this nature and is working with the NJ Division of Criminal Justice which is the lead investigating agency on fraudulent unemployment claims being filed throughout the state."

10:41 AM – A resident of Lowell Road reported a theft of $4,300.00. The resident stated that they had hired a company to purchase and install a generator for their home in August of 2020. The company cashed a check from the victim in the amount of $4,300.00 a short time later. The company never started working on the project and have not refunded the money they were given after several requests by the resident. The detective bureau is investigating.

5:31 PM – A resident of Jerome Avenue reported identity theft. The resident stated that a fraudulent TD Bank checking account had been opened in her name on June 1, 2021. The resident stated that she had recently been the victim of a fraudulent unemployment claim in her name as well. The detective bureau is investigating.
