Glen Rock School Trustees Voting on Generator Purchase

Low bid came in at $148,000.

Glen Rock school trustees will be voting to approve the purchase of a backup generator at the middle school/high school Monday night, according to the agenda.

Documents show Superintendent Paula Valenti is recommending the board pull the trigger on accepting a backup generator for $148,000.

The middle school/high school was hard hit during Superstorm Sandy, remaining in the dark for about a week.

Schools were closed for eight days due to widespread power outages and safety hazards in the form of downed power lines and trees.
