Glen Rock Teachers, School Board Agree to 3-Year Deal
Agreement finally ends long-standing contract dispute

After nine months of disputes, the school board and Glen Rock Education Association (GREA) buried the hatchet and ratified a new contract Monday night.
Initially expected to be ratified last September, signage on the contract was held up over a $94,000 salary guide line item for the 2014-2015 school year. Both sides filed unfair labor practice grievances as a result earlier in the year. The matter was squared in June with a state-appointed mediator, setting in motion the process to finally ratify the deal.
In all, teachers will receive a 2.36 percent annual salary increase over the life of the deal. The GREA members will receive 1.9 percent for the 2012-2013 year, 2.9 percent for 2013-2014 and 2.3 percent for 2014-2015.
The school board vote was unanimous on Monday night.
