Green Way Markets Replaces Kings In Ridgewood
The store opened Feb. 19 after Kings Food Market closed at the location earlier in the week.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Green Way Markets of Ridgewood opened their doors last Friday, replacing the Kings Food Market that shuttered operations earlier in the week.
The specialty grocery store offers "organics, natural foods, gluten-free food as well as an expanded wine and liquor section," according to a news release.
It also offers Rancher’s Legend beef, a steakhouse quality beef at supermarket prices, along with wild-caught seafood, officials said.

"One of the largest differences shoppers will notice is the competitive pricing Green Way offers for premium products as well as our own organic Green Way line of food, cleaning supplies, and other sundry items." said Robin Estevez, one of the trio of brothers that own the supermarket.
This is the second Green Way Markets to be opened by the Estevez family. The first Green Way Markets opened just prior to the pandemic in Cross River, New York, a hamlet in Westchester County.

"This past year has changed the grocery market landscape in many ways," said Robin.
"People are cooking more and wanting to replicate the meals they ordered when dining in restaurants. There is a demand for great food, signature products, and specialty items to create their own chef-inspired recipes. We bring all this and more to the shopper including being price conscious."
Among those changes in the area is the bankruptcy of Kings, which was purchased by Acme in January.
Stores across the state have begun closing, with Ridgewood's location among the most recent, shuttering operations Feb. 16.
With new ownership and a new grocery chain filling the space, upgrades are planned for the store, but are pending permits, Green Way officials said.
The store is located at 112 N. Maple Ave. in Ridgewood.
