It's Almost 'Super Soccer Saturday' In Ridgewood

The annual event brings together more than 200 youth and high school soccer players to celebrate the sport.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ – This Saturday isn’t just any Saturday in Ridgewood.

It’s Super Soccer Saturday, an annual fundraiser event that brings together more than 200 youth and high school soccer players to celebrate the sport.

This year’s games will be held at Ridgewood High School and start at 9 a.m., according to event organizers.

All three levels of the boys and girls high school teams will play home games on the school’s stadium field. The girls will play Kearny, while the boys face off against Glen Rock.

The game schedule is as follows:

  • 9 a.m. – Freshman girls
  • 11 a.m. – Freshman boys
  • 1 p.m. – JV girls
  • 3 p.m. – JV boys
  • 5 p.m. – Varsity girls
  • 7 p.m. – Varsity boys

In addition to the games, there will be a parade of youth players from the Ridgewood Soccer Association and Maroons Soccer Club, who will accompany the varsity teams onto the field during pregame ceremonies.

There will also be a “crossbar challenge” during each game’s halftime period, offering youth players a chance to try and win a prize.

Concessions, as well as Ridgewood Soccer apparel, will be on sale, also. A 50/50 raffle will also be held, with a 9 p.m. drawing scheduled. The winner doesn’t need to be present.

All proceeds from the event support Ridgewood soccer programs, as well as Michael Feeny’s BEST DAY EVER, Inc., a local non-profit created to allow families with ill children to have a special, memorable day.

Ridgewood High School is located at 627 E Ridgewood Ave., Ridgewood.
