NJ Adds Ridgewood COVID Vaccine Sites To Growing List
Local and hospital officials in Ridgewood have clarified the status of recently listed COVID vaccine sites.
RIDGEWOOD, NJ — The New Jersey Department of Health has added Ridgewood Village Hall and The Valley Hospital to the growing list of vaccination sites in Bergen County, but officials told Patch that vaccines aren’t currently available there.
The Ridgewood sites are among the latest additions to the list, which also includes the Richard Rodda Center in Teaneck, the Bergen New Bridge Medical Center Annex in Paramus, and the Paramus Board of Health's site at 1 Jockfish Sq.
According to a Valley Health official, the hospital will assist the Ridgewood Health Department on this initiative, but there’s not yet a date for public vaccinations.

As for vaccinations at the hospital, a Valley spokesperson told Patch they are not currently able to schedule vaccine appointments.
"Valley’s Department of Health and Community Benefit is partnering with the Ridgewood Dept of Health on these clinics. Our team helps organize and administer the vaccine," said Maureen Kleinman.

Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli said the state plans to increase the number of vaccination sites beyond 300. State officials have said the goal is to vaccinate 70 percent of the adult population by the spring.
Many questions remain about the states rollout of vaccine sites, availability and does, namely, when residents can get inoculated themselves.
Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli said recently more than 310,000 vaccine doses have been administered in the state, and New Jersey has been receiving about 106,000 doses per week.
Gov. Phil Murphy, much like local health officials, said the vaccination sites in New Jersey are more than capable of administering more doses, but the supply from the federal government hasn't kept pace.
"We have the distribution capacity," Murphy said. "We just need the supply from the feds to meet that demand, and it is becoming increasingly apparent that we are ready but they are not."
Still, there are other questions about COVID-19 vaccines in New Jersey, and Patch has some answers.
