NJ Transit Agrees to Pay for Unfinished Train Station Work

Village receiving $185,000 payment to complete a series of items never done following the train station renovation.

New Jersey Transit has agreed to pay for a littany of construction work Ridgewood officials claim the agency never finshed following the renovation of the train station.

According to Janet Fricke, Assistant to the Village Manager, NJ Transit has agreed to pay the village $185,000 to complete a series of "punch list" items.

The funds must be paid within the next 18 months, and the village is expected to contract out most of the work.

Among the items are the paving of the parking lot, a reinstallation of the irrigation system in the parking lot island, the restoration of a coffee concession inside the station building, cleaning/painting pedestrian underpass and the painting of the retaining wall on Franklin Avenue.

New Jersey Transit has also agreed to retile the roofs of the two remaining kiosks while adding plants to the sloped area to the right of the taxi stand.
