Mary Barchetto and Jill Orlich are the only candidates seeking two open council seats in Glen Rock.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — The polls are closed, and votes are being counted in the race for Glen Rock council.
Glen Rock Council President Mary Barchetto will seek re-election in 2021, and Jill Orlich will run for the first time.

Barchetto is the head of public safety, chair of community affairs, Senior Advisory liaison, and a member of the finance committee.
"She is currently working on her third budget round and has spearheaded initiatives like the Restart Glen Rock campaign to reopen downtown and create outdoor eating areas, the seniors newsletters, and a number of family programs," Glen Rock Democrats said.
Orlich will be new to the borough council, but has served several terms on the Byrd school HSA board.
During her time on the board she increased fundraising, preserved treasured traditions, and "worked on initiatives to ensure that Byrd school would continue to be a thriving community and safe space for children," Glen Rock Democrats said.
The Tuesday election will determine a party nomination, and the results are unofficial until certified by the county clerk.
