Ridgewood Crew Wins National Championship

The JV boys took home a gold medal while the JV girls won a silver medal.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — A Ridgewood Junior Varsity Boys boat won a national championship recently.

David Yang, Gabriel Martinez, Matthew Lepis, and Tommy Montgomery won the gold medal for the four-man boat at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America National Championship in Ohio this past weekend.

Ridgewood crew teams entered eight events at the championship. The boys JV team won a gold medal while the girls JV 4-woman boat won a silver medal.

The girls JV boat members are: Lauren Sudol, Nicole Kye, Victoria Hoy, and Anna Soderlund.

Ridgewood Crew will host an information session Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Van Neste Memorial Park. Saturday is National Learn To Row Day.
