Ridgewood Natives Add Local Flavor To Inauguration Ceremonies
Miami Marlins General Manager Kim NG and multi-talented performer Ali Stroker took part during Inauguration Day ceremonies.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — For those watching the Inauguration Day programming that followed the swearing in of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, some familiar faces may popped up on-screen.
Miami Marlins General Manager and Ridgewood High graduate Kim Ng made an appearance during the "Celebrating America" program, joining other notable sports figures including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Ng read a portion of President Ronald Reagan's Inaugural Address during her appearance.

Rep. Josh Gottheimer cited Ng, who became the first woman named GM of a Major League Baseball team, as an example of North Jersey excellence.
"Kim is an incredible example that there's no limit on what someone can accomplish! So many firsts," he wrote.

Gov. Phil Murphy and Gottheimer also gave a nod to multi-talented performer Ali Stroker, who was also a part of the ceremony.

Gottheimer, Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. and Rep. Mikie Sherrill all posted scenes and thoughts to social media, and Gottheimer was joined on Inauguration Day by Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton.
"Today I had an opportunity to witness the renewal of democracy in our nation's capital. I now have faith in our commander and chief and his plan to reunite America on the principles of it's founding. Thank you to the Hon. Josh Gottheimer for extending me the invitation to celebrate a historic moment in America's history. God Bless America," wrote Cureton.
