Ridgewood Raiders win 2018 Junior League NJ State Title

Team overcomes adversity to win 9 elimination games in a row

The Ridgewood Raiders won the 2018 Junior League New Jersey State Championship on Sunday, defeating Sayreville 10-2. Ridgewood overcame a slow start by winning the final three games of the state tournament, including two consecutive vs Sayreville.

The win on Sunday was the 9th consecutive elimination game victory for the District 4, Section 1 and NJ State Champions.

Ridgewood moves to the Eastern Regional Tournament played at Michael J Tighe Park, 65 Georgia Road in Freehold NJ, their first game against New Hampshire at 10am on Friday (8/3). The winner of the tournament will represent the Eastern Region in the Junior League World Series (JLWS) in Taylor, Michigan. This year's team hopes to follow in the footsteps of the Ridgewood 2015 Junior Team who competed in the JLWS.
