Ridgewood's Jackie Wolak Named Nat'l Player Of The Year: Report

'She was the heart and soul of our team,' Ridgewood Lacrosse coach Crysti Foote told US Lacrosse Magazine.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Jackie Wolak had a season for the ages. And she was rewarded for it.

Wolak is a former Ridgewood High School lacrosse star and current University of Notre Dame student. She was named the Brine/US Lacrosse High School Girls' National Player of the Year, US Lacrosse Magazine reported.

"She was the heart and soul of our team," Ridgewood coach Crysti Foote told the magazine. "She is just so athletic and is a leader on and off the field. She played defense for us and did everything for us."

Wolak takes every aspect of the game, practices, getting ground balls, and assisting her teammates, Foote said in the report.

Wolak was also named an all-American and Brine/US Lacrosse High School Girls' Mid-Atlantic Player of the Year, US Lacrosse said.

Wolak is enrolled at Notre Dame, taking summer classes there. She said she enjoyed her time at Ridgewood.

"I appreciated every day and working hard," Wolak told the magazine. "The little things were really important."
