Scholarship Named in Honor of Retiring Kerry Huntington

The Learning Services HSA naming scholarship for the head of Special Programs at the Ridgewood Public Schools.

Following a proclamation recognizing her many years of service in the Ridgewood Public Schools by the village council, the Learning Services Home & School Association announced it had established a scholarship in honor of Kerry Huntington.

"This scholarship will recognize Kerry's leadership, integrity, sensitivity, and unwavering commitment to our special children," read the statement drafted by the LSHSA. "It will be awarded each year to a Village of Ridgewood graduating student of good moral character who exhibits those same attributes of Kerry Huntington while demonstrating an outstanding dedication, support, and understanding of other students' special needs and challenges."

Huntington announced earlier in the school year that she would be stepping down as director of Special Programs after more than 20 years in the district.
