Burlington County school Shawnee beat back a resilient Ridgewood girls team to win the Group 4 State Championship Saturday at Monmouth University.
Ridgewood did not look like themselves in the first half, ceding 7 goals in the first quarter to Shawnee. Despite Ridgewood climbing back to close the lead to one in the second half, Shawnee would fire off several more goals to win 12-9.
Lauren Beausoleil led Ridgewood scorers with three goals. Fellow senior Maggie Carver had two goals.
