Tanner's Canine Resort opened in Waldwick in June, and with virtually no advertising, has been packing the schedule with dog parents wanting in. Their secret? Word of mouth. "When someone comes here they cannot believe what we've done, and they tell their friends about us." says Suzanne Freedman, Co-owner of Tanner's. "The yard is enormous, the kennels are pristine and it really feels like home."
Well it should feel like home because Freedman's partner, Tracey Manne, lives in the 4 bedroom home on the property. Manne is a certified dog trainer, has several certifications in dog care, and raises puppies for the Morristown Seeing Eye Program. Manne is the lead trainer at Tanners and for obvious reasons, specializes in puppy obedience. "Puppy Kindergarten is very popular," explains Manne. "This is a 16 session course that is essentially daycare for puppies, with an hour of basic command training in each session."
