Wandering German Shepherd Hops Into Ridgewood Family's Car
A Ridgewood family had a bit of a scare on Halloween when a unfamiliar German Shepherd showed up in the driveway and hopped into their car.
RIDGEWOOD,NJ – Ridgewood Police reunited a lost German Shepherd with his owner on Halloween night, but that's not before the pup gave a local family a bit of a fright.
On Thursday evening, a Newcomb Road family was unloading groceries from their minivan when an unfamiliar, large dog showed up in the driveway, jumped through the car's open sliding door and promptly sat down in the backseat.
After the discovery, the family called police and Officers Douglas Christopher and Zachary Knudsen soon arrived at the home. Together, the officers coerced the dog from the minivan and into the back of a patrol car.

Moments later, police learned a resident on nearby James Street had just reported that his German Shepherd, Mikey, was missing. Soon after that, officers were able to reunite the wandering pup with his very grateful owner.
