WATCH: Ridgewood High School Graduation

The class of 2021 made it through two school years altered by COVID-19. They cap off a strange high school career on Tuesday.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — The class of 2021 finished their high school career as the state announced that 70 percent of the eligible population has been vaccinated against COVID-19.

Though vaccinations are present now, the COVID-19 pandemic unquestionably altered the end to the high school career's of Ridgewood's graduating seniors.

But it didn't stop them.

Ridgewood High School will host a graduation ceremony on Tuesday, slated for 5 p.m. A livestream of the event is available on the school's YouTube page, which can be viewed below:

After hanging banners to celebrate the class of 2021, the high school's alumni association articulated just what the graduating seniors had been through, and why it made them special.

"You are proof that you can withstand the challenges and obstacles put before you these past 15 months as Covid-19 continues to impact our lives—individually, as a community and as a nation," the association said.

"We are so proud of this year's graduates, a community of young, vibrant, creative, enthusiastic, talented and compassionate young adults. We also want to wish you all the best in your future endeavors, whether college/university bound, engaging in the workforce, traveling, or still deciding on plans moving forward."
