Average River Dell Teacher Salary Ranks Among Top 12 In NJ

ORADELL, NJ — The average River Dell Regional School District teacher makes more than the average New Jersey teacher, a lot more, new data from the state shows.

The state has released information that shows how much your school district, special services district, vocational district and charter school will pay teachers in the 2019-20 school year.

Patch put together a list of the median salaries set before the 2019-20 school year, from highest to lowest.

The median salary for River Dell teachers is $91,229, 11th highest in the state out of 649 districts, a nearly 12 percent increase over last year.

The median River Edge teacher makes $64,587, a 4 percent increase over last year, 350th in New Jersey.

Oradell's median salary is $64,055, a 10.5 percent increase over last year, 367th in New Jersey.

Overall, 232 school districts make more than the state median of $68,985, a 1.6 percent increase over last year. And it's not just the big towns or the regional districts that pay the most: Indeed, Millburn is a great place to get a teaching job, where the median salary is $92,784. So is Brigantine, which has a median salary of $93,649.
