Bergen Jail Gives Care Packages, Free Phone Calls To Inmates
Care packages have treats and snacks usually only available to purchase at the inmate commissary.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ —The Bergen County Sheriff's Office is distributing care packages and offering free phone calls to inmates and detainees at the Bergen County Jail.
The care packages and free calls are being offered in celebration of the holiday season, the sheriff's office said.
Care packages will have treats and snacks usually only available for purchase through the commissary.

"The holidays can be a difficult time for those incarcerated as they [are] separated from their loved ones," said Sheriff Anthony Cureton. "In the spirit of Christmas, the staff at the Bergen County Sheriff's Office hopes these free calls and care packages spread compassion and a little holiday joy to those currrently in the jail."
