A 2003 graduate of Montclair High School, Healy was a standout player finishing his career as a member of the prestigious NJSIAA 100 point club. The Montclair State University alum later served as an assistant at Montclair High School before taking his first head coaching position at West Orange for the 2008-09 season.
After taking over at Montclair Kimberley Academy for the 2009-10 season, Healy immediately led the Cougars to their first state playoff victory in 15 years and improved their win total by 9 games. Because of this turnaround, Healy was named N.J. Power Ranking’s Coach of the Year for 2010.

Since the 2010-2011 season, Healy has been the head coach at Fair Lawn High School where he led the Cutters to three consecutive state playoff appearances. This past winter Healy led Fair Lawn to a (14-8-2) overall record, the most wins for the Cutters program since 2008.
"When we look to fill a coaching opening here at Bergen Catholic, we look for intelligent, knowledgeable and passionate people whose order of priorities agrees with ours, and who desires to chase excellence in every aspect of their lives," McGovern said.
"Coach Healy absolutely embodies this philosophy, from his emphasis on academics, leadership, and hard work, to his communication skills and vision for our program.”
