Develop Your Networking Skills With The Community Chest

Learn how to communicate, develop coalitions and enhance your networking potential in The Chest's second professional development session.

The Community Chest presents Improving Networking Skills and Enhancing Interagency Relationships, the second workshop in its four part 2016-2017 Professional Development Series, on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. The workshop will be held at Vantage Health System's Training Center, located at 2 Park Avenue in Dumont, New Jersey from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

This workshop addresses the fundamental needs of professionals to communicate more successfully, build effective coalitions and enhance their networking potential. Participants will learn strategies to break down communication barriers that interfere with constructive interagency relationships and practice the skills needed to work effectively with different types of agencies. The value of dialogue over discussion will be addressed, as well as techniques to find common ground.

John Kriger, MSM, CADC, CPS, President of Kriger Consulting and a faculty member at the Johnson & Johnson and Rutgers School Health Leadership Institute, will lead the session. Kriger, a nationally and internationally recognized keynote speaker, author, consultant and content expert presenter, has been a guest on radio and television. He specializes in health services, providing consulting on public speaking for improving advocacy, performance improvement and leadership, management and team development. Kriger also serves on the faculty at the Rutgers Center for Alcohol Studies and the Center for Addiction Studies and a former Visiting Professor at Beijing Normal University in Beijing, China.
