Duplex Ordinance Goes to Final Hearing and Possible Vote This Week

Here's a sneak peek of what's coming up in RiverDell this week

MONDAY: During the 8pm regular meeting, the River Edge governing body will hold an open hearing on the 2013 municipal budget. However, the largest item on the agenda will deal with the second reading and possible vote on the proposed conditional zone change to Park Avenue and allow the construction of duplexes. The council will need a super majority vote to approve the change.

TUESDAY: The Oradell Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 7:30pm.

WEDNESDAY: The River Edge Board of Education meets at 7:30pm at Roosevelt School to approve the architecture firm Dicara and Rubino to update the Long Range Facilty plan.

THURSDAY:  The River Edge Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 8pm for a work session.

THE WEEKEND: The Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County 5K Race will be held Saturday, 9am around the Oradell Reservoir beginning at 200 Old Hook Road in Harrington Park. Proceeds benefit Habitat Bergen Sandy Rehabilitation efforts, in addition to the affiliate’s housing projects for low-income and hard-working Bergen County families. The online registration fee is $20 – www.habitatbergen.org.

The Oradell Rotary Club of Oradell/Emerson and the Oradell Health Care Center, Care One Senior Care Company will hold an "All You Can Eat and Drink" Beefsteak Dinner, catered by Nightingales on Saturday, 6-11pm at the Oradell Health Care Center. For details, please call Tom Kelly at 201 599-3001. Enjoy the NCAA Final Four College Basketball on 12' x 12' TV Screen, Box Score Raffle and 50/50. New and unused Clothing, Toiletries, Towels, New Socks, and Undergarments will be collected for Bergen County Housing Health and Human Services Center in Hackensack.

The Water Works Conservancy, Inc. (WWC) is presenting A Victorian Afternoon Buffet, Book Talk & Book Signing, at the Hiram Blauvelt Mansion, on Sunday 1pm with  Guest Speaker Richard Polton, author of the new book about the Architect of the Blauvelt Mansion, Fred Wesley Wentworth, the Architect who shaped Paterson, NJ and its People. Polton will discuss his book, the architect and the design of the Blauvelt Mansion, giving attendees an opportunity learn about and to see the interior of the Mansion first hand.
