Take a Stand for Respect, 12-Week Divorce/Separation Workshop

For the next 12 weeks, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1 Passaic Street in Ridgewood, will host an ongoing workshop entitled "Take a Stand for Respect" on divorce/separation.

The workshop, is for adults only, will run from March 5 through May 21 on Tuesday evenings, 7:15pm to 9pm in the Church's Youth Center.

The workshop not only deals with the turbulous emotions such as anger, guilt, stress, self image,and the most difficult...forgiveness that one goes through when encountering a divorce or separation but also through speakers, educates on the dynamics of how emotional/mental abuse can take place within a relationship without one even realizing it.  

This happens simply because with mental and emotional abuse the signs are extremly subtle with just enough warmth and affection which includes gernerous gifts and over the top kindness to keep a partner in  continuous state of roller coaster confusion, denial and yes...full of excuses as to why they are at times being treated so poorly by their partner.
