George Martin started his 14 year-long career with the New York Giants in 1975, and was known as one of the most feared pass rushers in the NFL. Not only was Martin part of the New York Giants team that won a record 14 games in 1986, but Martin was also one of the team captains during Super Bowl XXI where the New York Giants brought home the Lombardi trophy against the Denver Broncos. In 1988, Martin surpassed record holder Bob Lilly of the Dallas Cowboys, and became the NFL’s all-time leader in touchdowns by a defensive lineman. He held that title for 18 years. He retired in 1988 and in 2004, he was instated into the Sports Hall of Fame of New Jersey.
