Get Ready to Network at Northern NJ Community Foundation's ArtsBergen Connect the Dots

Attend the Northern New Jersey Community Foundation's (NNJCF) ArtsBergen's Connect the Dots networking event, Lights, Camera...Network, and see how the arts make Bergen County's communities great. The NNJCF, a nonprofit organization based in Englewood, New Jersey, will present the second networking event of the 2017 series on Wednesday, April 26 at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Student Union Building in the Rutherford Room, located at 1000 River Road in Teaneck, New Jersey, from 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Connect the Dots is a free networking series drawing people throughout Bergen County and the surrounding area. Members of the arts community, municipal and community leaders and business owners living or working in Bergen County are invited to attend and meet others with similar interests. Attendees are asked to bring something representing their artwork, dance, music, poetry, idea, creativity or other art form to present live on video. Donations are appreciated.

On-air personality Dusha Holmes II, a producer and media consultant, will facilitate the session in a group activity for people to network with others, showcase their creative works, and advocate for the arts in Bergen County. Holmes, a Bergen County native, is active in all aspects of the media and entertainment industry. He has worked for major television networks and is currently an Associate Producer for Craft NY, an adjunct professor at Bergen Community College, and an independent media consultant.

"During 2017, the Connect the Dots series' goal is to connect and strengthen the vibrant arts community in the region. With more artists living in Bergen County than the rest of New Jersey, the series seeks to provide opportunities to collaborate, encourage partnerships among artists in the community, and explore and develop creative placemaking projects in the area," said Danielle De Laurentis, Associate Director.

Community Engagement Program Supports the Arts

This month, the NNJCF's Community Engagement Program is supporting the arts and partnering with the Teaneck Creek Conservancy, a nonprofit organization based in Teaneck, New Jersey dedicated to the protection and reclamation of the environmental, cultural, and historical legacy of the Teaneck Creek Watershed, a 46 acre eco-art passive trail park. People attending the April Connect the Dots are asked to bring and donate any of these items for the Conservancy's children's art and science programs: watercolor sets, markers, crayons, glue, glue sticks, construction paper, pipe cleaners, craft sticks, felt sheets, tissue paper, yarn, or string. Eco-friendly products are appreciated.
