Good Samaritans Help Man Struck By Vehicle In Oradell: Police

Pete Yotka of Oradell and Daniel Ruggini of New York stopped and provided aid to the man before police arrived, authorities said.

ORADELL, NJ — Two good Samaritans helped a man who was struck by a vehicle Saturday night, police said.

The pedestrian was struck at the intersection of Ridgewood Avenue and Kinderkamack Road at 6:11 p.m., police said. The person suffered "impact injuries" and lacerations to his head.

Pete Yotka of Oradell and Daniel Ruggini of New York stopped and provided aid to the man before police arrived, authorities said.

The man was taken to Hackensack University Hospital's Trauma Center for treatment. Police thanked Yotka and Ruggini for their help.

Police reminded residents to do their best to increase visibility, including wearing reflective materials and bright-colored clothes, using pedestrian flags and lights.
