Haitian Artist Presents Latest Work at St. Joseph Church

The art show will run through July 17 in the Parish Life Center

Saint Joseph Church presents "Brightness and Serenity", the art of Paul Saint-Aimé with an artist's reception tonight, 6-9pm at 268 Grove Street in Oradell.

Saint-Aimé, 79, will show his landscapes, portraits and caricatures in oil and acrylic paint at the Church from now through July 17.

Born in Haiti, he has experienced moments of incredible change and upheaval in his native country, including a political coup d'état and the devastating earthquake of 2010 in which his home was destroyed.

Throughout it all, his art has been his comfort and strength. He celebrates subjects as diverse as a brilliantly colored Haitian landscape and thesoft tones and tender gaze of a mother and child.

Wine and cheese will be served during the reception and all art is available for purchase.Viewing will also take place from 9am to 3pm on Sunday, April 14.
