Mark Cordes, 61, Oradell Mechanic

ORADELL, N.J. — Mark Cordes, 61, a mechanic for NJ Transit in Oradell, died Saturday.

He was a parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church in River Edge.

He was an avid New York Yankees and Oakland Raiders Fan. He loved Rock 'n' Roll music.

He is survived by his wife, Jo-Ann, siblings Gary, and his wife Laura; and Lacey and her husband James; brother-in-laws Richard Martinez and Richard Chimento and sister-in-laws Gloria Ropero and Betty Martinez; and niece and nephews Jennifer Suckow, Christopher Cordes, Suzy Jones, David Martinez, Thomas Martinez, Mackenzie Bruckler and Alexandra Ferro.

Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Fairview Ave., Paramus. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Intermnet is at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 20 Mercer St. Hackensack, N.J. 07601 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
