Oradell Public School Ranked 35th in NJ Elementary Schools

Cherry Hill and Roosevelt Schools both fell in the rankings, according to schooldigger.com

Oradell Public School (OPS) was named among the top 40 elementary schools in the state in 2011-2012, according to school ranking website schooldigger.com.

Drawing from performance data from the New Jersey Department of Education, OPS was ranked 35th out of 1,254 elementary schools in the state. Roosevelt and Cherry Hill both fell in the rankings to to 179 and 263 respectively.

Third and fourth-grade students from all three schools showed high proficiency in mathematics, ranging from 88 to 97 percent on average in the ASK evaluation tests. Language arts proficiency for all three was between 80 to 86 percent.

Oradell students averaged a 183.7 on the combined ASK tests, with Roosevelt (179) and Cherry Hill (168) trailing their neighbors.

Oradell Public jumped 52 spots in the rankings from the previous year, while Roosevelt and Cherry Hill both fell 88 and 163 each from 2010-2011.

River Dell Middle School moved up 12 spots in the middle school rankings to 90th with a combined 173.6 on the ASK tests and average proficiency scores of 86.7 percent in mathematics and 86.9 percent in language arts.

The High School also advanced 23 spots to 90th in the state ith a 90.2 percent mathematics and 97.0 percent language arts proficiency scores on the High School Proficiency Assessment. Regional students had a combined score of 187.2.

The Oradell School District came in the Top 10 district rankings at number eight, River Edge followed at 96th and the Regional District at 102, according to schooldigger.com.
