Oradell Student Named National Merit Scholar
She is the only Oradell student at Immaculate Heart Academy to earn the honor.

ORADELL, NJ — An Oradell student has been named a commended student by the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Jessica O'Neill was one of 13 students at the all-girls Catholic school in Washington Township to receive the honor.
O'Neill also recently received the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institue Medalist Award for her "outstanding achievement" in math and science. Recipients who apply and are accepted into Rensselaer receive a minimum $25,000 annual scholarship.

Immaculate Heart Academy is an all-girls Catholic regional high school in the Township of Washington. About 800 students are enrolled at the school.

The merit scholarship program names about 34,000 students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.
The students received the honor for placing among the top five percent of the more than 1.6 million students who took the 2018 Preliminary SAT.
