Oradell's National League Rec Championship...unforgettable!

Roux & Hanna help lead The Leahy Company in a passionate back-and-forth between 2 great teams!

The National League Rec Season was a pretty good one this year for the Oradell Rec Program. In the past, teams would play each other as they worked their way toward the giant trophy among only Oradell. But in the past few years, the league has combined with other close towns for a more competition and friendly way to increase the number of game as well as learn the it's complexities.

Saturday was the championship. And Saturday the match up was Oradell vs. Oradell. On June 8th, The Leahy Company competed against Fenner & Esler for the crown.

The game was a back-and-forth battle the entire time! Passion ran deep among players and coaches. Chants rang out and players that were competing hard all season needed to turn it up a notch in what would become one of the greatest games ever played on Muehleck Field at the corner of Oradell and Prospect Ave.

It was a beautiful day... but tensions ran high.

With the score now 8-7 and Fenner & Elser in the lead, The Leahy Company's Gavin Roux stood in the box in the top of the 6th with men on first and second. He crushed a laser down the first base line to put his team on top securing 2 RBIs!

In the bottom of the 6th, southpaw Joey Hanna helped shutdown F&E in order to put his team on top! Hanna with the save and the place went wild!

In the end, it would be The Leahy Company that would come out on top. The final score was 9-8.

Both teams fought hard, but in baseball only 1 team can win. Congrats to The Leahy Company, but congrats to both teams for making it to the finals.
