Planning Board Hears Application for Kinderkamack Road Restaurant This Week

MONDAY: Grant writer Marlene Casey of Capital Alternatives will discuss potential grant opportunities with the River Edge Mayor and Council durings its 7pm work session. The governing body will introduce a smoking ban ordinance at its 8pm regular meeting for all borough parks.

At 8pm, the Regional Board of Education will meet in the High School Media Center to approve the ongoing co-op hockey and swimming program with Westwood Regional and renovations at the Middle School for a boys restroom and girls locker room. The Board may also discuss the recent Academic Performance reports that were released by the state last week.

TUESDAY: The River Dell PTO meets in the High School Media Center at 7pm. The meeting will run until 9pm.

WEDNESDAY: Both the Oradell and River Edge Boards of Education will meet at 7:30pm to discuss the recent Academic Performance reports that were released by the state last week. The meetings will be held in the Oradell Public School media center and Roosevelt School media center respectively.

THURSDAY:  At 8pm, the River Edge Planning Board will hear a site plan approval application for a restaurant at the strip mall next to the River Edge Diner at 474-478 Kinderkamack Road. The applicant, Le & Rao LLC will be requesting a variance relief for parking on the site.

FRIDAY: Oradell Public School hosts its annual Science Fair from 5-8pm in the multi-purpose room and gymnasium.

SATURDAY:  Is paperwork cluttering your house? Afraid to put things to curb? Worried about Identity Theft? Bring your papers and have them shredded before your eyes from 10am to 12pm at Oradell Borough Hall parking lot. Donation of $10 per box suggested. 

A will be held at the Blauvelt Mansion, from 7:30-11pm in Memory of the Great Ship R.M.S. Titanic (which sank 101 years ago on April 14, 1912) and honoring the endangered historic Blauvelt Mansion (117 years old) and the historic Hackensack Water Works (131 years old). This will be the final time the Mansion will be open for a non-profit organization's event following its purchase by Care One.  

SUNDAY: Sponsored by the Oradell Special Events Committee, the borough will host its first-ever K-9 Karnival on Sunday, 1 to 5pm at the Oradell Senior Veteran's Buildingparking lot. This family oriented event for dog owners will include tail waggin' fun, puppy parade, adoption/rescue, great food and fun for the entire family.

REGAL will be celebrating its Opening Day of Softball Season at Kenneth B. George Park with pictures beginning at 12:30pm and the Opening Day Ceremony and First Pitch will kick off at 2:00pm. There will be vendors and food, to really get the season started. Opening Day game starts at 3pm.
