Democrats Sweep River Edge Council Election

RIVER EDGE, NJ — Democrats swept the River Edge Borough Council election.
River Edge Republican incumbent Alphonse Bartelloni ran against Democratic challengers Joseph Gautier, also an incumbent, and Michelle Kaufman for two seats.
The only other River Edge race was in the local Board of Education election. Five people ran for three terms: Gyuchang Sim, Eun Kang, Svetlana Galiulina, Hoochan Lee, and Adrienne Doyle. Sim, the board vice president, was the lone incumbent running for re-election.

For the River Dell Regional Board of Education, Joseph Manzelli Jr. and Claudia O'Neill, both incumbents, are running unopposed for re-election. Tracey-Ellen Ehalt, another incumbent, is running unopposed for an unexpired two-year term.
There was only one contested race in Oradell and it was for the Board of Education.

Mary Katherine Norian, Robin Roland Levy, and Gregory Derian won the Oradell Board of Education election.
Democrats Tracy Schoenberg and Rogert Tashjian received 2,005 and 2,006 votes in the Borough Council election, respectively.
Miriam Yu was elected to a two-year unexpired term on the council.
